There are several great decor magazines and websites available for our viewing. As I come across new ones or forgotten ones, I will post them.

Eclectic but functional

I have always loved art, decor and fashion. My entire family has always been artsy and the nut does not fall too far from the tree. I love color. I love using objects for things other than their primary use. I love blues and greens, but love to throw in a touch of the unexpected like red, coral, yellow or fuchsia. And I love black and white...especially in photography. and I love fresh flowers.

I love displaying collections of things in a group for impact but have to be careful so that they don't become too busy or cluttered. I try to keep pictures from magazines and web pages for ideas in notebooks and my computer. I find myself constantly moving around furniture in the same room or to another room for a "new" look.

I will be posting some of my favorite ideas and pictures on my blog, both for my use and ideas for others. Hope you enjoy and look forward to seeing some of your ideas and looks also.

Just another Monday

Today is the first Monday in May, 2010. It's just like any other Monday in 2010 however today is the first day of my Blog. "Bogart's Midnight Mischief" is my Scottish Terriers registered AKC name although we call him Oliver or Ollie for short. I chose him for the title as if it were not for him these past 6 years I am not sure how my life would otherwise be today. His spunky, typical "terrier" attitude and stubbornness has carried me through many days with laughter and hope instead of dwelling on what could have been. I have a wonderful husband of almost 33 years and a smart, beautiful and amazing daughter who is married to a very smart and amazing guy! We also have a Cairn-Cocker Spaniel mix named Sam of similar attitude and stubbornness as Ollie, but much more of an Alpha dog... or at least he thinks he is.
